Tatkarma yanna bandhay sa vidya ya vimuktaye. Aayasayaparam karma vidanya shilpanaipunam. – Shri Vishnupuran That is, that which does not create bondage is karma, and that which paves the way to liberation is knowledge. The rest of the work is labor, and the other disciplines are merely art and skill. Indian sages and intellectuals have called knowledge the means to human liberation. Humanity has yearned for freedom from fear, hunger, vices, bad tendencies, misconduct, weakness, poverty, and inferiority, disease, and grief since time immemorial. The above verse from the Shri Vishnu Purana gives us the message that man should strive to attain liberation from all his troubles through knowledge. Learning is the fruit of sacrifice and austerity, hence the attainment of knowledge is always laborious. Come, let us all be disciplined, dedicated and make a sincere effort to acquire knowledge by using all the available resources within the limits. By incorporating proper diet, behavior and thoughts in your daily routine, let the infinite possibilities given by nature to you as a person flourish and flourish in the light of the sacred energy of knowledge. We all recite this sutra from the Taittiriya Upanishad of the Krishna Yajurveda every day in our schools during the morning prayer assembly: Om Saha Navavatu Saha Nau Bhunaktu, Saha Viryam Karvaavhai. Tejasvi Navadhitamatsu Ma Vidvishavhai, Om ShantiH ShantiH ShantiH. Come, let us understand the great message hidden in this sutra and assimilate it in our lives and do our daily work. I extend my heartfelt greetings to all the officers, principals, teachers, students and staff of Delhi Division and wish a successful and happy future for all.

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” ― Mahatma Gandhi In the times of knowledge explosion where what is learnt soon becomes redundant, the greatest challenge becomes to equip the students with such knowledge, skills and values that they accommodate emerging concepts and areas of learning with ease and become adept at unlearning those which lose relevance. The role of the teacher also becomes highly significant as a facilitator of learning and as a role model that can impact the students positively. Holistic development of students happen in congenial and supportive school climate where teachers, as motivators, generate not only love for learning but also respect for views and beliefs upheld by others. So, the teaching - learning environment has to cater to creative, critical, analytical, literary, aesthetic and spiritual sensibilities and aim at transforming students into life- long learners. This requires continued professional development on the part of teachers too. It has been rightly projected by Brian Koslow, "If you nurture your mind, body, and spirit, your time will expand. You will gain a new perspective that will allow you to accomplish much more." Kendriya Vidyalaya Janakpuri has successfully carved its reputation as a pace-setting institution and the glorious results reflect the sincerity of efforts and the richness of support system in ensuring that true learning really takes place. In the coming times, our prestigious institution will definitely have more life-long learners with the potential to contribute towards the development of the self, the society and the nation.”
